Guided Meditation: Facing What's Here With Compassion with Steph Stern

COVID-19 is bringing so much anxiety and uncertainty to each of our lives. In addition, the physical isolation guidelines we are following mean that we may feel disconnected from the very people who can ease our stress. This short meditation focuses on a practice of self-compassion (Google Kristin Neff if you’d like to learn more about this) and lovingkindness for others.

This meditation includes the following three elements of self-compassion from Kristin Neff’s research

This is a moment of suffering

Suffering is a part of life, we are all in this together

May I be kind to myself in this moment

This meditation also includes a form of Metta or lovingkindness meditation

May you (bring loved ones to mind) be free from harm

May you be strong and healthy

May you find ease

May you be happy
