What Does Healing Mean to You?

In his book A Place of Healing, author Michael Kearney writes, "healing is something that happens, rather than something we do." This statement may be a radical departure from both our professional training and personal identity as health care providers. Yet, we know that the cast placed around the broken arm does not heal the arm -- healing comes from within the person who is injured and "the most we can do is prepare and hold the space" where healing may happen.
