Lovingkindness meditation, or wishing yourself and others well, is a way to bring compassion to the present moment. Try this short meditation with Sharon Salzberg: 

 
 

For reflection alone or together:

Try the lovingkindness meditation, first with yourself in mind, then with a loved one in mind, then with an acquaintance in mind, then with all beings in mind. If you want to try an advanced practice, you can also try this practice with a not-so-loved-one in mind.

May you be joyful

May you be peaceful

May you be contented
